The train trip - Documentary style and a bit of monochrome

Set adrift on memory bliss I came across these photos when I was living in Wellington. My sister and nephew came down to stay and we took a trip on the train into Wellington Central with the kids.

Converting photos to monochrome (Black and White) can make photos look totally different. I'm a huge fan of monochrome! So what initally could of looked quite dull has now turned into a nice memory of our train trip :)The last photo I liked in colour.

Late afternoon light......

is the best light!

Often referred to the golden hour, and is gorgeous at anytime of the year! It is the light that photographers crave for. These days it is more accepted to have sunflare and rays appearing on the photos. Sheye Rosemeyer is the queen of this light, and a truly amazing photographer that I admire. Check out her website.

Here are some examples that I captured in March of this year.

Hopefully I'll be able to go out and capture some more of the golden hour soon!

Spring is on the way

It is hard to believe that it is now August. This year seems to be passing right on by. Today has been one of the warmest days we've had in months, the sky is blue, the birds are singing, my windows are actually open!!!

Here is some spring inspiration from the past couple of years.

Colour me

Here are some examples of some types of edits that can be done to photos. Vintage is very much in at the moment, and is a look I really love. These photos were taken at Waikoko Gardens, Hastings.
